Glanville has submitted a planning application on behalf of Southern Gas Networks (SGN) to develop the decommissioned plot at the Horley gas holder site into a new purpose-designed office. The proposed development will accommodate SGN’s head office and allow for future business expansion.
The new offices will replace SGN’s current head office in Horley, which is already at capacity with no scope for expansion, and will provide SGN with a bespoke, modern office environment. The proposed building has been sited to protect the amenity of the adjacent residential occupiers by minimising any impacts relating to daylight / sunlight, privacy and overlooking.
The new building will be designed and constructed to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ for its energy efficient measures. BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for masterplanning projects, infrastructure and buildings.
