Our story: celebrating fifty years
2022 marks Glanville’s 50th anniversary. A milestone we are hugely proud of. Founded by John Glanville in 1972, from a small, shared office next to the railway line in St Albans, John and his team provided a Civil and Structural Engineering design service.
Fifty years later we have grown to be well-respected professional property consultants across not just Civil and Structural Engineering but also Transport Planning, Highways Engineering, Building Surveying, and Geomatics.
With a team of over 80 people based at our two offices in Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire, we now service a diverse range of prestigious clients throughout the British Isles in both the public and private sector.
In celebration of our 50th anniversary we have produced a short history of Glanville – the ups, the downs and the remarkable people who have helped make the company what it is today. You can download the book here: Glanville Anniversary Book Online
Our core values capture the essence of the Glanville culture and are reflected the way we engage with our clients and other property professionals we work with.
We go above and beyond – By listening intently and taking time to understand our clients’ requirements, we provide a bespoke service that ensures their expectations are exceeded every step of the way.
We are one team – We invest in the growth of our talented team to foster a culture of creative thinking, technical expertise and commitment to excellence.
We love what we do – We are a motivated team across all areas of the business and provide opportunities for personal and professional development for everyone. We work seamlessly with professional teams to create long lasting relationships that are built on value and trust.
We champion progress – We embrace new technology, ideas, innovations and professional development to enhance the way we work together within the organisation and as part of professional teams.
Diversity and inclusion
We are committed to improving equality, diversity and inclusion within Glanville and want to be seen as a positive role model for our industry. That’s why we have embedded inclusivity into our core values and behaviours. We have a culture that respects each other’s opinions, treats people with respect regardless of their culture, religion, age, race, sexual orientation or disability and accepts and respects people’s individuality.
We continually seek out ways to educate and improve ourselves through training in areas such as unconscious bias training and we proactively work with our professional colleagues to create initiatives that encourage diversity in construction.
