This new extension with a construction value of £15m expands the school from 4FE to 6FE includes substantial internal alterations, the construction of a new 2-storey Learning Resources Centre and a new 3-storey teaching block. The new 3-storey building will comprise of a full height central atrium and include classrooms, a primary hall and a domed Gurdwara.

The campus is located on a very tight site with the new accommodation located at the heart of the school and has required a design that provides modern 21st century teaching accommodation but also maximises buildability along with a minimal impact on the day to day running of the school.

The construction of the new building will utilise a steel frame with metal decks design compositely to ensure maximum economy of the structure and reduce the overall tonnage of steelwork. Foundations are generally mass concrete, however consideration has had to be given to the close proximity of the adjacent building foundations. A sustainable Urban Drainage System is to be adopted and the accommodation is aiming for a BREEAM rating of very good.
