With established offices in Didcot, Hemel Hempstead, Bristol and Cambridge, we are continuing to grow and seeking a highly motivated and capable Senior Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team in Hemel Hempstead. This role offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, talented, friendly and collaborative team, working alongside senior management to support the continued growth and development of the office.
This role requires a proactive, self-starting individual with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage projects and develop client relationships. You will lead and deliver civil engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative.
You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors and will enjoy the challenges provided by our wide-ranging client base and varied workload. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer seeking to further develop their career, business acumen and technical capability while taking on new engineering challenges within a supportive and expanding consultancy environment. Candidates must have a solid consultancy background in Civil Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice
- Development masterplanning
- Site acquisition and due diligence
- Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS solutions
- Infrastructure design – underground services, drainage and external works
- Highways design, Section 38 and Section 278 Agreements
- Sewerage authority liaison, adoption agreements and requisitions
- Earthworks, ground modelling and cut/fill analysis
- Contract administrations, site supervision / Resident Engineer
- Estate maintenance and facilities management
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience in Civil Engineering design consultancy
- An ability to communicate effectively, writing clear and concise emails, letters and reports
- Able to represent the company at meetings displaying competence and professionalism
- Good commercial awareness and an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in FLOW drainage modelling software and Civil 3D
