Glanville Consultants was appointed by Caffyns plc to work with SRA Architects to refurbish an existing car bodyshop to create a new Skoda dealership on the site of its existing dealership in Ashford, Kent. The project incorporates Skoda’s new brand retail and comprises a 7-car showroom and 6-bay workshop. The external areas around the dealership were reconfigured to provide customer parking and a new used car display
We provided civil and structural engineering services for the remodelling of the building. The structural frame required reinforcing to create the showroom façade to the principal elevation due to the removal of bracing members that were providing overall stability of the building. We were able to enhance the structure through intelligent engineering solutions in order to achieve an uninterrupted glazed elevation.
